Dental Consultants
Most Dental Consultants got into teaching others because they hated dentistry and couldn't wait to quit themselves. Or they never were dentists in the first place.
"Finally a Dental Consultant who loves dentistry, lives what he teaches and has developed what is probably the most profitable office in North America and runs it on 2 days a week."
Dr. Terry Orsten, Edmonton, Alberta
Former Associate of Dr. Dave Robertson
No wonder there are so many dental consulting horror stories. Some bossy former assistant wants you to turn your office upside down and inside out. Do you blindly follow advice that sounds incompatible with your values?
Or do you listen to a former dentist who got out of dentistry so they could show others something they didn't want to do.
Every dentist is different. We all practice our own way. We are all at a different stage in our practices.
Whatever stage we are at, we can all improve. And the best way, by far is simply to take advice from someone who already knows how to do what we want to do.
I have created the kind of information I wish I had a the earlier stages of my career. It would have saved me years of mistakes.
My Qualifications:
I am the sole owner of a practice producing and collecting over $6 million per year
I only go into the office 2 days a week
I am a practicing dentist and dental consultant
I love my days of doing dentistry and I love my days of leading and managing the office and so can you.
It is important to understand the type of dental consulting you need.

Why Should you Listen to Someone You Have Never Even Heard of?!!
I know; the big name gurus get all the attention. But in spite of what they imply, they don't even practice anymore and even when they did, most of them never had a practice even a third of the size of mine.
I started out just like you. I worked for a few other dentists. I did the same things as everyone else and got the same results. Then I partnered with another dentist and we started a chain of offices. All of a sudden dental practice management became VERY important to me. We hired consultants, tried all the current concepts and kind of floundered around.
It was only when I began working with non-dental business consultants that I began to understand the way a business should work, whether it is a dental practice a luxury hotel or a construction company.
I realized that I didn't need a chain of offices if I could run one extremely well and with a lot less risk, hassle and stress. So I retired from the business of running a dental empire and settled in to build the best dental practice I could.
I never really intended for it to grow so big, it just happened as I applied the business skills I had learned.
Bit by bit I cut back my hours and days. Ironically the more I did, the more my income went up as I had more time to think instead of just "do".
My personal production grew to over $1000 per hour. The office production grew to $6,000,000. The new dentists coming on all wanted to learn how to improve, so our own in-house program was created. The results speak for themselves
I for one became sick and tired of the poor quality and high cost of dental consulting services. I have hired a few over the years. Some have helped, others have been almost useless.
Howard Farran did a survey on Dental Town and the average dentist pays between $5000 and $15,000 for a consultant. And it goes up from there. And most of these consultants are not dentists or have not practiced for years.
When you have paid that much, you feel like you really should do what they say, even though you often disagree with their ideas. They say trust me, it'll work. But sometimes it doesn't. So you are out $10,000 plus you ruined what you did have!
One of my friends stopped accepting dental insurance on the advice of an expensive consultant. He argued that his clientele were dependant on it. The wise consultant insisted. He lost half of his patients!
You know what will work in your practice. You should make these decisions, not someone flying in from who knows where. But you need some ideas.
I wished that I could get some help at a reasonable cost and implement what I liked and discard the rest. More of a do it yourself program.
I had always hoped for a service like this, but it never seemed to materialize. And now, I realize that I know and have experienced more than the consultants do on a daily basis. So I decided to offer my services on an inexpensive on-line basis for dentists.
